    Gen4 problems to Genesis

Post  Admin on Sun Oct 16, 2011 12:00 am

all items will lose there movement morphs-clothes and hair
skirt handles don't work-must make them invisable in the surface tab

you need to make separate runtimes for these items, and keep a back up of the original ones...
as DS4 will change the files!!

    AutoFit

1 - If you installed the V4/M4 for Genesis morphs, I believe you have to zero out those particular body morphs for the Auto-Fit to work (kind of ironic) but that's at least what I saw. There were poke-throughs and when I dialed back the V4 body morph on Genesis the clothing fit properly.

2 - It seems that clothes that have been previously converted by The Tailor or some other clothes converting program from V3 to V4 will not work properly with Auto-Fit. They have to be originally V4 to work right. If someone has had success or a workaround, I'd like to know.

3 - And most importantly, I have learned through the video tutorial that once you used auto-fit to fit your M4/V4 clothing to Genesis, all of the previous M4/V4 clothing morphs go away. Now that is definitely not good especially if you have morphs that say unbutton a shirt, or adjust a skirt (wind blown) or any other kind of adjustment morph of that type. For me that's a big minus and severely limits the type of clothing you can use.

If you have DS4P or the CCTs you can go this route:

Load clothing into scene but don't fit or convert to Genesis
Convert to TriAx weight-mapping (Scene option menu, Edit sub-menu
Open the Transfer Utility (Scene option menu, Asset sub-menu)
Under Sourceselect Genesis for Scene Item and Clone for item Shape, then in the dialogue that pops up select the figure the clothes are for.
    Under Target select the clothing
If desired select a projection template
Click Show options and select Reverse Source Shape from Target.

That should convert while keeping morphs

this processwas used to convert V4's Hooded Cloak and the Morphing Fantasy Dress to Genesis with reasonable success.
